Sweater can be worn for years on the condition, that you care for it properly.

First, wash them only when really nedded.
Use mild detergents.
Do not rub or squezze knitwear to much. Tip: best way is to wrub a garment in a towel and squezze out surplus of water.
Drying: Spread a garment on the flat, ventilated surface e.g. upper part of a laundry rack. Never hand on the laundry string, sweater might stretch out!
It is not recomended to iron sweatres. You can use a low temperature iron with a lot of steam and for safety iron through a piece of material
 

Machine wash at maximum 30°C

Flat dry
